Samuel Adams Wisner (born August 14th, 1987), better known as Sammy Adams, is an American rapper and recording artist.
Born as Samuel Adams Wisner on August 14, 1987 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Kata Hull and Chuck Wisner. His parents moved him to Wayland, Massachusetts when he was in high school. Adams went to Beaver Country Day School before transferring to Wayland High School during his junior and senior years. Later, he went on to attend Hobart and William Smith Colleges for two years, where he played for the Statesmen soccer team. He then transferred to Trinity College inHartford, Connecticut where he majored in political science. Then he was placed on the All-NESCAC soccer team in 2008. Wisner played soccer for Trinity College and was named captain during his senior year.
Adams started recording songs on his Macbook in 2008 from his college dormitory room. Over the course of the next two years, he recorded a large amount of material. In early 2010, he released “I Hate College (Remix)”, a remix of rapper Asher Roth’s song “I Love College”, on YouTube. His EP, Boston’s Boy was released in March by 1st Round Records and reached #73 on the Billboard 200. Adams finished his second mixtape, Party Records Mixtape, in London and released it in September 2010. He performed at music fesitval Lollapalooza in Chicago in August 2011.
Adams released the singles, “Blow Up” ”Summertime”, from his forthcoming album in November 2011 and March 2012 respectively. He made his television debut on the late night talk show Conan with Conan O’Brien in January 2012. A third single, “Only One” was released in April 2012.Teen Vogue quickly named Adams one of five new “Artists To Watch” in 2012 with Artist Direct giving the single 4 of 5 stars. “Only One” was later included in AT&T’s 2012 Summer Olympic Games commercial featuring Alex Morgan.
